Kimo Abouelwafa

Statistics Tutor

Kimo Abouelwafa is a full time tutor, teaching Maths and Physics professionally since 2009. He graduated from the University of Oxford after reading for a Masters of Engineering Science MEng (Hons), which specialised in Control Systems Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. Kimo has since worked as a Structural Engineer, which required extensive mathematical analyses to solve real life engineering problems. This was conducive to the learning and motivation of his students as he applies mathematical theories to real world situations.

Kimo has amassed over 10, 000 hours of tutoring experience and has taught over 350 students from 11 Plus, A level/IB Diploma and 1st year degree level Statistics. He has tutored Statistics at all levels ranging from GCSE to A level Maths and Further Maths. Kimo has also taught first year degree level Statistics for Economics and Management, as well as for finance related degrees.

Kimo Abouelwafa’s tutoring ranges from one off tutorials (during school holidays), to homeschooling. Most of the students he tutors are awarded A grades. In some instances, students were predicted D’s but managed to turn these around to finally achieve A’s.

Testimonial

“When I suggested my two very different learners take on some Maths tuition over the break (one needed to catch up, and one needs (and likes) challenges in order to stay interested), they both groaned about lost time on their mobile phones. Much to their delight (and mine) a friend suggested Kimo. The boys instantly clicked after their first lesson and eagerly looked forward to the sessions going forward. Kimo makes Maths fun. He is enthusiastic and delightful, not to mention extremely skilled in his teaching technique.”
