Providing a solid foundation for positive tutoring relationships

Michele Smith - Sociology Tutor

Michele Smith

Sociology Tutor

Michele Smith has taught Sociology in schools for the past fifteen years and has tutored it for five years. She is a former Head of Social Sciences covering both Sociology and Psychology. Michele has taught extensively in both independent and state schools and has been an examiner for both AQA and Edexcel Psychology.

Michele enjoys tutoring Sociology as it lends itself to great discussions about the society we live in and there is something new in the news every day to talk about and use as examples to illustrate theories in Sociology.

She was often a part of the sixth form leadership team in school. This gave her the chance to learn about the wide range of issues that impact on a young person’s success. Being a trained careers adviser and working for the careers service for seven years, enabled Michele to offer higher education advice, as well as careers guidance.

Tutor Ethos

Michele relishes the opportunity to tutor young people. She finds it a pleasure to see a student grow in confidence as they understand how to achieve the grades they want. Many of her Sociology tutees have improved their grades substantially.

Testimonial

“Michele Smith is a real find. Not only is she a great teacher, she has actually interested my daughter in Sociology. Something we didn’t think was possible! My daughter’s confidence in the material has grown immensely and in a very short time. If you are looking for an A level Sociology tutor, we couldn’t recommend Michele more.”
