Breda McKinney is a specialist SEND tutor and teacher with a particular specialism in supporting dyscalculia and mathematical difficulties.
She has twenty years’ experience as a learning support teacher in both the state and independent sectors. Having acquired a wealth of knowledge spanning a broad range of SEND and learning difficulties her professional practice has encompassed specialist teaching, supporting EHCP applications, advisory work on SEND support in schools, the SENCO role, assessment and CPD training for teaching and support staff. She works alongside students, parents and schools to enhance progress, increase confidence and reduce anxiety in children and young people. In addition to the above, Breda has written articles on dyscalculia and mathematical difficulties to advocate for early intervention.
Breda uses her own extensive bank of multi-sensory resources for specialist teaching and tutoring. Having worked in both the state and independent sectors she brings strong interpersonal skills as well as efficiency, extensive SEND knowledge and high-quality teaching skills in order to achieve excellent progress and results for students.
Breda McKinney has been tutoring through Osborne Cawkwell Tuition since 2022. She has successfully supported students with a range of learning needs. Breda provides specialist support teaching to students in Key Stages 1, 2 and 3 with Maths, English, 11 Plus entrance, handwriting and study skills.
