Anand started tutoring Economics with Osborne Cawkwell in 2003 after studying Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University. He has been a tutor ever since 2003 and he also has over 10 years’ worth of experience as an Economics, Business Studies, and Politics teacher in schools. He is a qualified teacher and has been a Head of Economics at St George’s, Ascot and at Oak House School, Barcelona for a combined total of 8 years. Anand has been a full-time Economics tutor since 2017 and has worked as an online tutor since 2013.
At A Level Anand has taught the Edexcel, AQA, OCR and WJEC Econimics syllabuses and he has also taught IB Economics. He has also been an examiner for Edexcel and written practice Edexcel exam papers for Uplearn. Anand’s lessons are very interactive, and he always pushes his students to demand more from themselves. His approach is very exam orientated, and he fully understands that students come to him to learn how to improve their grades. He focuses heavily on helping students to improve their exam technique and he provides students with inside tips on how to raise their grades quickly. He delves deeply into the technical aspects of Economics but also makes the subject simple to understand and he helps students to gain an excellent understanding of mark scheme. He sees great improvements from students who follow his methods, and he is able to help students to convert their understanding into excellent answers on paper.
Anand loves teaching Economics because he is passionate about explaining and sharing ideas. He enjoys showing his students how to explain their ideas to others. He is passionate about helping his students to explain their ideas to others and he develops an excellent rapport with his students. He strikes a perfect balance between being supportive and encouraging and demanding at the same time.
