Providing a solid foundation for positive tutoring relationships

Will Tyson-Banks - History Tutor

Will Tyson-Banks

History Tutor

Will Tyson-Banks is a history tutor that has worked with students at all levels, from primary school to master’s degree.

Tutor Experience

He has gained a wealth of experience on how to help students not only become better at understanding history but understanding the demands of the examining bodies. In particular, what they are looking for to award the highest marks.

Will’s main focus is on GCSE tuition, A level tuition, IB Diploma tuition and Cambridge Pre-U tuition. He covers all of the main syllabi and examination boards. He also runs tutor workshops in understanding the difference between GCSE (KS4) and higher-level learning (KS4+/KS5/ GCE Advanced Level), and how this relates to history at A level, IB Diploma, and Pre-U.

As a history tutor Will helps students fill in missing knowledge gaps and with their exam revision. In addition, he is also a home school tutor, providing students who are outside of mainstream education with private tuition. In some cases Will has delivered an entire history course programme to those in home education.

SEND Tutoring

Will Tyson-Banks has been a history tutor to several students with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. The growing need of pastoral support for students led him to undertake wider training. He is a qualified Youth Mental Health First Aider.

Testimonial

“Neither my son nor I could recommend Will more highly. Will is an intuitive private tutor and his enthusiasm for history is contagious. He is also a lovely person and is now someone that my sometimes-apathetic teenager genuinely looks up to. Before meeting Will, Charlie was a real “science” kid but he’s now most excited about starting A level history in the autumn. In fact he is already asking if I can book Will for some sessions!”
