The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is an assessed programme for students aged 16 to 19. It is respected by leading universities across the globe. The IB Diploma Programme in history forms part of Group 3 – Individuals and societies and is available at higher and standard level.
The Diploma Programme History course aims to promote an understanding of history as a discipline, including the nature and diversity of its sources, methods and interpretations. It also helps students to gain a better understanding of the present through critical reflection upon the past. It is hoped that many students who follow the course will become fascinated with the discipline, developing a lasting interest in it whether or not they continue to study it formally.
A History tutor through Osborne Cawkwell can help a student to think more reflectively and critically in order to become effective, independent and analytical writers. A tutor can assist in developing a student’s ability to research and ask the most significant questions about the past, encouraging them to understand the true nature of historical study.
