In his time as an English tutor, Max has learnt to be resourceful and formulate tailored and adaptive strategies for his students. His students have ranged in age from 6 to 30 and Max has covered everything from the ISEB Pre-Tests to proof-reading for publication.

Max has a wide-ranging knowledge of the standard required by outstanding schools in the London area (such as St Paul’s, Harrow, JAGS and Westminster). He offers GCSE English tuition, in addition to being a specialist A level English tutor, covering a variety of exam boards: AQA, BAC/IB, CIE, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC. Max’s students have succeeded in a multitude of exam situations, from long-term preparation for 11 Plus entry to last-minute A level resits.

SEN Tutoring

Since first becoming a private tutor Max has gained a wealth of experience working closely with SEN students. As an SEN tutor he has developed methods to support students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADD & ADHD as well as ASD. Max Wright is a patient and empathetic person who is endlessly passionate about English as a subject. After twelve years as an English tutor he is more dedicated than ever to helping his students develop. Max especially enjoys the process of building understanding between himself and his students and, in turn, their needs. Seeing his students grow greater in confidence and self-determination is what motivates him the most.

As well as being a committed tutor, Max is a writer and poet, with poems published in several journals.

Testimonial

I am delighted to provide a reference for Max, who has provided English tuition for my son for approximately a year. Max is a very able and charming young man. My son very much enjoys his weekly English tuition with Max. Max has instilled in him a love of English and encouraged his reading. Max also has a lovely, calm manner and brings out the best in his students. He is encouraging, patient as well as thorough.
