Jot Davies - English Tutor

Jot Davies

English Tutor

Jot Davies has been an English tutor with Osborne Cawkwell Tuition since 2003. He studied Modern and Medieval Languages at Cambridge University and specialised in literature. He has a great enthusiasm for language, its structures and usage.

Tutor Experience

Jot offers English tuition at all levels including 7 Plus, 8 Plus, 11 Plus, 13 Plus Common Entrance. He also provides GCSE English tuition in both English Literature and English Language. As a GCSE English tutor, Jot helps students of varying abilities navigate all of the main examination boards. As an English Literature tutor, he enjoys promoting students’ continued learning outside the classroom, broadening their understanding of a range of literature. At A level, Jot also teaches both English Literature and English Language. In addition, he prepares many students for Oxbridge entrance.

He has taught in all sorts of different situations and contexts but the realisation of meaningful breakthroughs, large or small, is always the goal. Being a private tutor suits Jot Davies down to the ground. He loves the personal nature of it; working with students, parents, as well as the Osborne Cawkwell team to tailor the ideal approach that will yield the most successful outcomes.

Jot has worked as an English tutor for a huge variety of students at all levels. Often he has taught in very difficult situations. He has been a home school tutor and mentor to several students. Whilst providing home education, Jot has often provided English tuition through entire courses. He continues to do so if and when students are able to rejoin mainstream education.

Testimonial

“We cannot recommend Jot highly enough and think his approach to private tuition as well as mentoring is exceptional. He is a very caring as well as committed teacher. Our daughter achieved an A in English and is really proud of her achievements.”
