David Romero Gutierrez

David Romero Gutierrez has been a Spanish teacher for the last twenty years. He has taught in state and private schools at all ages. He also has considerable experience as a English-Spanish translator/interpreter. David holds the Spanish equivalent to the British Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Tutor Experience

David teaches both online, one-to-one in person and in small groups. He frequently helps students prepare for exams. David is extremely experienced in delivering 13 Plus, GCSE, 16 Plus, A level and Pre-U tuition. David also has experience teaching SEND students, those in non-exam year groups throughout KS2 and KS3. In addition, he also supports SAT and university students and adult learners.

David is very patient with students and enjoys teaching them how to use their strengths to maximise their potential in the areas they want to improve. He employs many different tuition methods, including using flash cards, workbooks, conversation skills, and playing fun games to keep the attention of younger students.

He understands how it feels to learn a language that is completely different from your first language. David aims to create a learning environment that will encourage students to feel at ease.

Tutor Ethos

David Romero Gutierrez builds students’ confidence and encourages them to problem solve by guiding them with leading questions, reaffirming their understanding of the subject matter. This method allows students to apply the same knowledge to different situations as they answer questions using their own words.

Testimonial

“David taught my son who has ADHD & Dyspraxia for 2 years and successfully helped him achieve success at both AS and A level. David balances the challenge of being both strict about his expectations and fun at the same time. He is able to ensure input and output and my son had huge respect and friendship with him.”
